今日は散髪をする。
経済的に切り詰めたいので、近所で一番安いところで切ることにした。
いわゆる、床屋で切りたいなあと思ったのだけど、月曜日は休み。
仕方なく、駅前の散髪屋が営業していたのでそこで済ます。

安いだけの事はある。低質なサービスと自動車の部品のように扱われる私の頭。
三十路を少しまわった所といった、女が薄っぺらい笑顔で接客をしてくる。
いくつかの質問をする度に、その応答のぎこちなさが気に障ってしまう。
彼女は悪くないし、どちらかと言えば私が悪い。
掃除機が天井から吊ってあり、散髪の仕上に私の頭を吸引し、掃除をする。
なんと、あさましい。

どのようにしましょう？と言われ、いつも行っていた美容院では適当なニュアンスだけで
済ましていたのだけど、ここでは抽象的な言い方では、言語と言語の隙間を満たすことができないようだ。
求める髪型の図面を描いて渡せ、と言われているようだった。
なので段々、面倒になり、早く終わるような髪型にしてほしいと言った。

さて、だが美容院では、一度も満足の行く髪型にしてもらったことがない。
どちらかと言えば、担当者との会話とシャンプー、マッサージに金を払っているようなもんだ。
大体において、あなたは強烈なストレートだから、どうしようもないですと言われる。
どこかで高い学費を払って、憧れの美容師になった某たちは、私の髪質の前では何もできないということだ。

鋼の線のような硬くてまっすぐな私の髪の毛は、ストレートに憧れる人間には魅力的にでも見えるのだろうか。
サラサラだねと、言われるが、サラサラすぎると私は自分で思う。
ほどよく天然パーマの入った人間たちのほうが、よっぽど私には変化があって羨ましい。

そんな経緯もあり、大学時代はほとんど、自分で適当に切っていた。
美容院に行くのが人生をユタカにする贅沢な時間だとは、私にはどうしても思えず、
維新の鐘がなった訳でもないのに、いつもザンギリ頭であった。

The musicians were glad to get away from the stiff,

to rehearsals he wore a shirt,frayed,faded jeans,and sandals or loafers.
With this costume,he used to carry a leather bag with his personal effects.
We thought we had a real swinger this time, it was going to be fun and games from here on.

Ozawa's routine was quite the opposite.He had very unorthodox working hours,
After rehearsal,he may have gone directly to sleep,as he had spent the entire previous night studying scores.
He'd awaken no earlier than a half hour before the concert,slip into his casual clothes,
and arrive at the Opera House no sooner than 8:28 for an 8;30 concert.
He'd walk through the backstage area to his room,followed by various members of his entourage.
During this casual ramble,he would greet everyone with a big smile and a "hello"
as if he the had nothing important ahead of him.He'd change into his concert clothes and in two minutes
was transformed into a conventional symphony conductor-well,not entirely conventional.
Though he wore a full-dress coat and trousers,with black shoes and socks,in place of shirt and vest he wore a black turtleneck
and beads.For afternoon concerts,instead of his grey-striped trousers and Oxford grey jacket,
he donned black trousers,the same type of shirt and beads he wore at night,and a coolie-type jacket.
